Coaching Families with Spina Bifida and SCI/D
Practical Tools, Strategies & CommunityHow Do I Know If I Need Wheel Life Coaching?
What is WHEEL LIFE Coaching?
Wheel Life Coaching is a specialized coaching service designed to support families raising children and teens with physical disabilities—especially Spina Bifida. We help you navigate the complex realities of medical care, education, transition to adulthood, and family life, all while giving you practical tools and emotional support.
Our programs blend lived experience, professional insight, and strategic coaching to give you clarity, confidence, and a sense of control—whether you’re preparing for a big doctor’s visit, advocating at school, or planning for your child’s future.
Wheel Life Coaching exists because we know Spina Bifida does not end at birth—and families deserve more than a pamphlet and a pat on the back.
How Do I Know if WHEEL LIFE Coaching Is Right for Me?
Wheel Life Coaching is for you if:
-
You are a parent or caregiver of a child, teen, or young adult with Spina Bifida or a similar physical disability
-
You often feel overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure how to plan for your child’s next steps
-
You want someone who gets it—not just clinically, but personally
-
You are tired of generic advice or given pamphlets to read and instead want real strategies and solutions tailored to your family
We meet you where you are and help you move forward with purpose—whether you are in survival mode or ready to take things to the next level.
Do You Only Work With FAMILIES WITH SPINA BIFIDA?
While Spina Bifida is our specialty—and our founder lives with it personally—we also work with families navigating similar mobility-related conditions like spinal cord injuries, and similar congenital or acquired physical disabilities.
If your child uses a wheelchair or mobility aid faces systemic barriers due to their physical condition or struggles with social interactions, there is a good chance we can help. If you are unsure, reach out—we are happy to talk it through.
Do You only Offer 1-on-1 coaching Services?
Not at all. We offer several levels of support to meet different needs and budgets:
-
1-on-1 Coaching: Personalized support for families who want direct, in-depth guidance
-
Group Coaching: A shared space to learn, connect, and grow with other parents
-
Online Courses & Tools: Self-paced programs designed to help you every day scenarios, plan ahead, and advocate effectively
-
Free Resources & Workshops: We also offer online resources and downloads to support families
Our goal is to meet families where they are—with flexible options that fit your schedule, your goals, and your life.
Is this therapy, medical advice or something else ?
Wheel Life Coaching is not therapy and does not provide medical advice. We offer coaching—which means we help you set goals, solve problems, and take practical steps to improve your family’s daily life and long-term outlook.
Think of us as your strategic partner and guide. We support you in:
-
Communicating effectively with doctors, educators and other professionals
-
Advocating for your child’s needs
-
Navigating life transitions and planning ahead
-
Building confidence as a parent and decision-maker
We do not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical care. Instead, we empower you to ask better questions, get clearer answers, and take more confident action in the medical and educational systems where you are now.
If you are working with a doctor or therapist, coaching can be a powerful complement to that care—focusing on the real-life stuff most professionals do not have time to help develop strategies.
